Trump ally Nasry Asfura wins disputed Honduras election

According to official results, Asfura edged out Salvador Nasralla by under one percentage point. Marred by delays and fraud claims, the election in Honduras is another step in Latin America's apparent rightward shift.

The official results were confirmed nearly a month after voters went to the polls on November 30.

Asfura's main rival, fellow right-wing candidate Salvador Nasralla, has rejected the outcome, citing fraud and technical failures.
