General FAQ

I can’t log into my account and am unable to reset my password.

If you previously made a purchase on www.dukeupress.edu site, you likely already have an account in our system:

  • Username: Your username is your email address.
  • Password: We updated our e-commerce site in August 2024, and were unable to carry over password data. If you have not logged in recently, you will need to reset your password

Note: We recommend that you continue to use your existing account rather than creating a new one so that you will maintain access to your account details, purchase history, and access to any digital content you purchased on read.dukeupress.edu.

If you try to reset your password and do not receive an email to complete the reset process, you may need to create a new account. If you need assistance with your account, please contact orders@dukeupress.edu.

What do I do if I never received an account confirmation or password reset email?

When you create a new account or reset your password, you will get an email to confirm. The email will come from no-reply@dukeupress.edu. If you don’t receive the email, double check your junk or spam folder. If you don’t find it, contact orders@dukeupress.edu for assistance.

How can I purchase a Duke University Press book that's not yet published?

If you select a product that includes multiple items, such as a print and electronic journal subscription sold together as a package (example: Individual Subscription (print + electronic), when you review your order these will display as separate items. This does not change the item(s) that you purchased or the price.

Please contact our Customer Relations department at subscriptions@dukeupress.edu for the status of your order or subscription.

Why can’t I see the order I just completed in my order history?
