Noteable Hams

This Feature is available since Wavelog v2.0.3

Per default the List of noteable Hams will be pulled by a cronjob from Ham2k (they did great work!). However, you are able to modify the source for that data, by changing it at the adminmenu:

Please use a URL, which is reachable from your Wavelog-Instance. Don't forget to enable the cronjob for it in cronmanager or update it manually via the Admin --> Debug - Menu. The format for the file is quite simple. It's a txt-file containing the Call of the ham, and a small note.

e.g.:

# Ignored comment / you can use a hash at the beginning to structure the file for yourself
CA4LL A special Call for the List
OT3R1 Another Call, but with a Link: [@Description of the link which will be shown](https://the_link_itself)

in this example you've two hams of note in your list. Whenever a user types in one of those calls (CA4LL or OT3R1) a small annotation below the call-field (at qso-form) with the information will be shown. See example for N7JTT. The icon (The farmer in the picture) is a simple UTF8-Symbol which was added to the description at the file.

Important:

  • Each line has be at least terminated with a LF (LineFeed).
  • The [space] after the Call is the seperator for Call and description.
  • Description could contain a link-description in brackets ([]) and the link itself in round brackets (())
  • Keep the description short. The DB-Col can hold 256 Characters (UTF8!) at maximum

ProTip:

If you want to combine different Files, just concatenate them to one file there where you host/provide the file. Use your favourite Text-Editor, generate the file with a shellscript, php or whatever tool you have.
