[DRAFT]
Telegram X is an official alternative client for Android, which is built from scratch and is based on TDLib, unlike other Telegram apps for Android, which are usually modifications of the classic apps.
Both official Telegram apps for Android have their own advantages and disadvantages, you are free to choose any of them, or even use both at the same time. You can even use the same phone number: all chats, contacts and settings will be seamlessly synced.
This article lists main Telegram X advantages.
1. Better Notifications
Notifications are the most important aspect of any messaging app.
Telegram X keeps a strong focus on them since last spring, so
• Stress-free
When you dismiss notification from certain chat, you won't see it again, unless a new message arrives from it.
So, unlike other Telegram apps, when you receive a notification from the important ones, you won't see reminded about messages from somebody you've been ignoring for weeks.
• Image Preview
Whenever you receive a media with a photo or sticker, Telegram X will display an image preview, based on your auto-download settings, or when it's already downloaded.
• Customisations
Telegram X provides a lot of customisation options for notifications, so you have full control of how notifications work for you:
- Silence Non-Contacts: when you're somewhat popular, many people try to contact you. Instead of disabling notifications from all private chats, in Telegram X you can make notification from all non-contacts silent. You don't need somebody's phone number to add them to contacts: just open profile – three-dot-menu – Add Contact.
- Sent Scheduled Messages: Option to receive a notification when your scheduled message gets sent. When combined with Send when Online, you may use it to receive a notification when somebody goes online.
- Include Dismissed Messages: Option to include or exclude messages that you dismissed in the notification tray when the new one arrives. You can control this setting by chat type, by default, it's enabled only for Private Chats.
• Low-latency and Reliability
Whenever possible, Telegram X doesn't rely on connection to Telegram server and doesn't even attempt to create a rudimentary connection in order to save resources.
However, in few cases when Telegram X has to establish a new connection, and has problems connecting to Telegram servers, you'll see a special notification that will
• Security
When you terminate Telegram X session from your other device, it clears all media cache and user presence, without having to open the app.
This might help you to instruct Telegram X to erase all user data once device goes online in case it got stolen.
However, don't forget about Settings – Privacy & Security – Passcode Lock, device's screen lock, and other useful features against device theft.
• System Integration
Starting Android Pie (9.0) you can control notification settings.
Telegram X provides an easy way to precisely adjust settings for chat types, instead of having to deal with each chat separately.
• In-App Troubleshooting
Android is well-known for its variety of custom builds and buggy OEMs.
While Telegram X does its best to deliver notifications without requiring jumping to the depths of system settings, there're still certain conditions that might prevent notifications from displaying.
However, for most of them, Telegram X provides in-app troubleshooting steps that might help you resolving the problem:
Emoji Sets
When using Telegram X, you can choose one of 7 emoji sets:

Unlimited Multi-Account
Telegram X smartly manages resources from accounts and tries to use as little resources as possible, so you are free to add up to 65,535 accounts while using one Telegram X app instance.
