Beep Beep, I'm a sheep.
It's basically just premium Subway Surfers, everything you love about Subway Surfers but dialed in. There's a sizable selection of characters to choose from, but it's not overwhelming (I also adore the art style change, the characters are so much more expressive, they have so much more personality, it's very sleek and sharp) I like that the location is the same too, it's not constantly changing, it's consistent, I like that, and I love all the new things added to the gameplay, like floorboards you can smash or train cars you can bounce on, or changes to the environment (like the floor being removed or train cars being placed) it keeps you on your toes. The graphics are really the only thing I have a problem with because, they're too high quality, they're absolutely stunning, but because they're so high quality, it's too much for my phone to handle and it very quickly overheats when I play for longer than 5 minutes, even when I lower the graphics quality to the lowest setting, all that does is slightly pixelate everything and screw up the frame rate, which is kind of a problem when you have a game that requires accuracy and quick timing. But that complaint aside, I adore this version of Subway Surfers (I really wanna unlock Spike, Spike is my favorite and I'm in love with his redesign 🎸) keep up the good work! (Edit, I got Spike 😁 I fried my phone battery, bought the Surfer's Pass and spent hours grinding on the trials and it was worth it 🤘🏻)

To summarize, subway surfers city is like a fresh modern visual and audio revamp while retaining the core fundamentals of what made the game classic and fun since back in the day, while adding new locations and mechanics like board tokens, the new bubble power, slamming down for coin piles or bouncing across terrain when presented and a better revive mechanic. The surfers having different powers that makes picking them feel more impactful to curate to your style of gameplay. And it genuinely feels like they put their all into this game which is rare to say in this day and age with 90$ Nintendo slop, Im a harsh critic but even I must admit this game to me stands firm at a 9.8 out of 10, to its stunning visuals to the better quality of control’s and the more complex terrain design while blending in OG terrain generation which effectively rewarding players for having ball knowledge and skill. And mastering the learning curve of staying at top speed. This game is truly a modern inspiration of what a real game should achieve. 🏆

It’s basically just the original subway surfers but with more to do. Kinda. The designs look nicer and higher quality and I would love to collect them all..but I cant with this season mechanic. Having to pay almost $10 per month for a new character and a skin (i know there are a lot of other rewards I’ll get to that) is pretty over the top. Yeah you guys want money and all that but a FULL character that (to my knowledge) you can’t get anywhere else is a bit much, but I have solutions for this! You can make an option to buy the pass with keys and just make some of the rewards worse so free to play people can get the character and skin, you can do like how it was in the original game and have the character and skin for free towards the end of the pass and keep the best rewards paylocked (minus the skins), or hell you could at least make the character the final reward and have the skin be the battle pass reward. Theres 3 perfectly fine options right there. If something is changed about seasons to make them more free to play friendly than 5 stars but other than that it’ll remain at 4. Theres pretty much no other reason to complete the pass besides the hoverboard at the end if you dont pay those $10.

This game is AMAZING. The design is beautiful and the game is very fun. I do have a suggestion though. I still play subway surfers and I like being able to unlock characters by doing missions and events. In subway surfers city there are rainbow square coins you can use to get several characters. This way is fun but it would be more fun if it had temporary events like the floor is lava event in subway surfers where you could unlock bunny Betty. I also think you should add event coins to buy new characters like ballerina tricky for a temporary amount of time. Also, when I play the game and I change my character the game kicks me out then I have to go back into the game. I don’t think there is something wrong with my iPad because when I play other games like subway surfers it doesn’t glitch or kick me out. The game also freezes for a second and that messes me up. That is all, I hope you read this review and fix the bugs. Thank you for reading.
