Farming and solitaire have a lot in common. Both require patience, the ability to think a few steps ahead and the courage to take some risks here and there.
It’s natural, then, that they combine so well in Solitaire Grand Harvest, a card-puzzle game that also tasks you with tending to virtual fields and livestock. The fact that it features a really cute dog is just the cherry on top.
Why it’s popular
Tri-peaks solitaire is an enduringly popular version of the classic card game that offers variety, tasking you to clear three peaks made of cards. Solitaire Grand Harvest mixes things up further, with extra peaks, elaborate board set-ups and farm animals blocking the cards! Add in the bonuses, win streaks and Wild cards, not to mention special power-ups, and this is far from a standard game of solitaire.

As you work through the levels, you’ll unlock farm fields that grow juicy crops over time, too. Watching a field of wheat turn from shoots into a full, golden crop is super-satisfying! With seasonal events to enjoy on top of this, and new features released regularly, there’s always a reason to come back to this wholesome homestead.
Getting started
Just like in regular solitaire, you can move a card from the tableau to your stack, as long as it’s one step higher or lower in value than the card on top of the stack. Unlike in regular solitaire, however, Solitaire Grand Harvest rewards you for doing this several times in a row, so try to keep your streak going to maximise your prizes.

It’s easy to get caught up in the rush and play very quickly, but you’re rewarded for taking your time here. Try to pause each time you move a card and think through the options you have, and how that could change the level. Remember that cards on the bottom layer are trapped, so the best move is almost always to free them – even if that means using one of your Wild cards!
Did you know?
Solitaire is also known as Patience, because that’s what it can teach you as you play. Its origins as a game date back to the 18th century, when it was first described in the 1783 edition of a German game annual.
Solitaire Grand Harvest’s developer Supertreat hails from nearby Austria, and was founded a few centuries later in 2016. In 2019, after the runaway success of Solitaire Grand Harvest, Supertreat joined Playtika, which also publishes App Store favourites Disney Solitaire and June’s Journey.
